Engineered with commercial-grade durability, the 1,000d reinforced PVC Recon is the most durable whitewater packraft ever made. Self-Bailing packrafts are engineered to keep you above the water by automatically draining water from the boat via the combination of the inflatable floor and drain-holes.


The Self-Bailing design excels at minimizing weight, setup complexity, and most importantly a faster self-rescue time when compared to a spraydecked packraft. Additionally, because PVC constructed packrafts can be inflated to a higher pressure compared to traditional TPU packrafts, the Recon won’t flex while plugging bigger holes and features on the river.

Kokopelli Recon Self-Bailing Packraft Features




  • The Recon features our 1,000d Reinforced PVC sidewalls and 1,000d Reinforced PVC floor, the same material used in commercial rafts.

  • The seams are welded and the pontoon-to-floor attachment point is glued to the sidewall and then reinforced with v-seam tape around the entire interior of the packraft.

  • Whitewater Series packrafts also have an additional 3in (7.6 cm) of floor material coverage on the sidewalls for extra reinforcement and protection.

  • The Inflatable Floor with Integrated Seat is made from 210d Diamond-Ripstop Nylon and uses a GRI Push-Push valve. Starting at 7 in (17.9 cm) thick in the seat area, the floor tapers to 4 in (10.2 cm) thick from the knees to the bow. This keeps you comfortable and improves paddling position which allows for deeper, more efficient paddle strokes.

  • For the main pontoon, the Recon Self-Bailing features a GRI Push-Push valve, the most durable and bomber valve on the planet. Used in all full-size rafts, the GRI is made from roto-molded plastic and is threaded and screwed together, not welded or glued. Meaning your valve will never come un-welded or fall apart. The GRI Push-Push valve also easily integrates with the all new TRiB airCap – HR and Nano Barrel Pump.






  • The Recon Self-Bailing is the same shape as the Nirvana Self-Bailing packraft. The high pressure design improves on water performance, giving it the maneuverability of a kayak and the stability of a raft. Higher pressure makes it responsive in technical water and easier to punch through holes.

  • The Recon Self-Bailing features two-chambers (Inflatable Floor with Integrated Seat + full-pontoon) for added safety, a moderate trim, aggressive rocker on the bow, and a large-volume stern which gives it great Class I to Class IV river handling capability and stability. Combined with the extra-large 12 in (30 cm) diameter pontoons and higher floor-to-sidewall attachment point, the Recon is perfect for crushing whitewater.

  • The adjustable kayak-style EVA Backband offers superior back-support while increasing paddling power.

  • The self-bailing design has several advantages including easier self-recovery, faster accessibility for scouting, or in and out extreme-low-water sections.





  • All Whitewater Series packrafts have our innovative 3-Point Thigh-Strap System. When combined with the optional 3-Point Thigh-Strap Kit it provides the paddler additional control over the packraft. The additional control allows the paddler to fully engage their core and leg muscles, which is especially important on challenging whitewater. For more advanced paddlers, they also present the opportunity to roll your packraft like a traditional kayak.

  • There are four strategically placed 1in (2.5cm) Stainless Steel D-Rings (bound by 1in (2.5cm) Mil-Spec Webbing) on the front of the packraft and two on the stern. Securely store your gear with our Animas River Bag or Delta Deck Pack, attach your bike to your packraft, or run a safety-line.

  • Do you need more storage space? Add our 21in (53cm) TiZip, an airtight watertight zipper, to increase storage space and give you access to the inside of your packraft pontoons. The TiZip compartment storage also integrates with our Delta Inflatable Dry Bags (Set of 2), perfect for protecting your gear or adding extra chambers of air.

  • Always rinse your packraft off with clean water once you are off the water. Be sure to clean out any debris that may have accumulated in the seams of your packraft. Focus on where the pontoons meet the floor or spraydeck especially. Allow to dry fully.

WASHING INSTRUCTIONS:

Machine wash separately in cold water on a gentle cycle. Tumble dry separately on low heat. Add QE Home Wool Dryer Balls to reduce wrinkles and increases drying efficiency. Touch up with a low heat iron as needed. Do not bleach or dry clean.
