This knife is excellent for freshwater boating and rescue, while the NRS Titanium Pilot Knife is recommended for saltwater use. It features the low-profile, quick-release Thumbs Up Sheath™, which securely stashes fixed blades and allows for one-handed release with a flick of the thumb. The sheath attaches firmly to a PFD lash tab, and the lanyard attachment point on the knife handle provides extra security against losing the blade in rough waters. A second lanyard attachment point at the tip of the handle offers further protection. The knife includes an oxygen tank valve wrench in the center of the handle. The partially serrated edge addresses all cutting needs, with reverse scallop serrations for severing tough fibers. The asymmetrical handle and blade, along with the blunt tip, ensure proper blade orientation and help prevent injury. Jimping along the top of the blade edge secures thumb placement and prevents grip slippage. The glass-reinforced polypropylene handle, featuring a rubber overlay, provides a comfortable grip and maximum blade control in wet environments.
